A guitarist, singer and composer since the age of 10, Adam has created music for the past 25 years that has drawn the Shul community together in prayer and communal song. To Adam, music is prayer; an interplay of heart, instruments, voice, and congregation. His work with The Shul Band is, in his words, "...a musical blessing. We come together to be a clearing for a greater voice to emerge. The alchemy plays out in musical time and The Shul Band is this expression."
Adam is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the Hunter School of Social Work. His love of Jewish music has its roots in his grandmother's kitchen, her Yiddish melodies, her cooking and years of Passover Seder musical Marathons, accompanying his father's accordion on his guitar.
After 25 years of service and study with Rabbi Burt, Adam will receive ordination as a Hazzan in the coming year. Mazel Tov, Shul of New York!
We cycle through a variety of Shabbat services each month including in-person services, community candle lightings, and live-streamed services on Zoom. Join us!
