Celebrating Shavuot

Join Hazzan Adam, The Shul Band, and our Shul of New York community for an evening of prayer, song, and connection in this historic Lower East Side space. Together we’ll welcome Shabbat and celebrate Shavuot, drawing on Jewish tradition in a setting that reflects our city’s rich cultural life.

During this month's service, Hazzan Adam's bar mitzvah student, Yasha Gorichev, will be called to the Torah and offer a meaningful message on what it means to stand together in community. Stay afterwards for a joyous oneg Shabbat with live music from the Shul Band.

RSVP opening soon! RSVP is not required, but appreciated for an accurate count for food.

Hazzan Adam Feder

Spiritual Leader / Musical Director

Hazzan Adam Feder, brings a unique blend of musical, spiritual, joyful and compassionate presence to each and every service at the The Shul of New York, the community he helped create.

Whether through music, The Shul Band, prayer, meditation, or simply showing up with presence and compassion, Hazzan Adam Feder remains a guiding force in The Shul of New York’s mission to be an uplifting, inclusive, and healing community.

Sponsor an Oneg

Honor a special event by providing food and drink for the Shabbat Afterparty at an in-person service, or by making a donation to sponsor a 'virtual Oneg' at a Zoom service.  It's a lovely way to share your celebration with the congregation and there are perks! You'll be offered the opportunity to light the Shabbat candles, and if you wish, to tell the congregation what you are celebrating or memorializing.

Host a Community Candle Lighting

We are a participatory congregation. Once a month on Shabbat in lieu of a Shabbat service, a member of the Shul community leads a short candle lighting ceremony on Zoom. Leaders are guided by a brief outline which includes the Shabbat candle blessing, kaddish and kiddush, and leaves room for each leader to be as creative as they wish. Contact us to learn more or host.
