Kids High Holiday Programs
Our Kids High Holiday Programs feature fun, educational and age-appropriate experiences for kids 12 and younger. While the services are in progress upstairs, kids engage in a hands-on project to learn about the holidays, the traditions, the rituals and the music of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Then kids and teachers go upstairs to join the Torah service and procession on each holiday.

Rosh Hashanah
The book, Measuring a Year will be the jumping off point for kids to look back and reflect on the cycle of the year. They will think and talk about the many things that have taken place since last year’s High Holidays and will be guided to illustrate the year and make shapes that will become part of a group project.

Yom Kippur
The Yom Kippur Kid’s Program will take inspiration from the book, The Big Bad Wolf’s Yom Kippur. What would happen if the big bad wolf went to a Yom Kippur service? How would he feel and what can he learn about reflection and kindness? Following our discussion, we will make shofars to create the call to prayer.

Spiritual Leader

Rabbi Eva Sax-Bolder
Guest Rabbi

Rabbi Matthew Reimer
Guest Rabbi
We received so many glowing comments about last year's High Holiday services that we moved quickly to invite the same celebrants again.
For Rabbi Eva and for Rabbi Matt, it is again a homecoming. Rabbi Eva served as the Shul's Rabbi from 2016-2021, and Rabbi Matt was with us from 2014-2018. Adam Feder has been a constant since the early days of the Shul, and has been the glue that has held this community together. This year, Adam participates as our official Hazzan, having been ordained by Rabbi Burt this past spring.

Forgiveness & Return: Ho'oponopono Meditation
2:00 PM in the Sanctuary
On Yom Kippur, through confession (vidui), forgiveness (selichot), gratitude (hakarat hatov), and love (ahavah), we return (teshuvah) to our truest selves and to God. Just as Ho’oponopono invites us to realign the broken places within and between us, Yom Kippur offers a sacred opportunity to release the weight of the past and begin anew. This guided meditation will weave these two traditions, reminding us that healing is possible, forgiveness is real, and love is always the final word.
