His memory is a blessing to all that knew him. Rabbi Burt has touched the lives of so many of us in such profound ways.

We remember with admiration and pride the "coming out" sermon that Rabbi Burt gave on Rosh Hashanah 2024. You can watch the sermon by clicking here.

The full obituary published in the New York Times is available here.

There was a memorial honoring Rabbi Burt's life on Saturday evening, September 6th. We will share the tribute film here soon.

It was among Rabbi Burt's final requests that donations in his memory be made to the Shul of New York. Please direct any donations in Rabbi Burt's memory here.

Rabbi Siegel married my wife, Valerie, and I on Sept 18, 2004 at Sky Studios in NoHo, NY. We particularly appreciated his kindness and humor (and flexibility to officiate for a Catholic). He will be sorely missed. נוח על משכבך בשלום (noch al miskavch b’shalom)

Rabbi Burt married my wife and me a decade ago at the MET near the fountain. He shared his home and his synagogue with us. Rabbi Burt was a friend for life. He will be remembered with love and gratitude for his generosity visiting New York. God bless!
