It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved founder and Rabbi Emeritus, Rabbi Burt Siegel, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 20th at Harlem Hospital.

His memory is a blessing to all that knew him. Rabbi Burt has touched the lives of so many of us in such profound ways.
We remember with admiration and pride the "coming out" sermon that Rabbi Burt gave on Rosh Hashanah 2024. You can watch the sermon by clicking here.
The full obituary published in the New York Times is available here.
There was a memorial honoring Rabbi Burt's life on Saturday evening, September 6th. We will share the tribute film here soon.
It was among Rabbi Burt's final requests that donations in his memory be made to the Shul of New York. Please direct any donations in Rabbi Burt's memory here.
