Elul: Preparing for the High Holy Days
Elul is the last month before Rosh Hashanah, but it is not simply a countdown to the High Holidays. It is a month of preparation where we begin our teshuvah (return). Throughout the month I will speak on practices and themes of preparation for the Days of Awe that help soften rather than harden us. My hope is that when we gather on Rosh Hashanah and again on Yom Kippur we will arrive already with a depth of meaning and belonging.
